How can I wire my Computer Cooling fan to run on a 9-Volt Battery?
I want to wire my coputers colling fan to run on a 9 volt battery, It has 3 wires (red yellow black) coming out of it with a small plastic thing at the end. I am willing to cut the wires or anything i need to do to get this thing to run on a 9 volt battery. If you are curious, it is a fast soulution for a Paintball Mask. thanks for all the help and answers
I am guessing that you've removed the fan from your computer and are now trying to get it's power from the 9volt. Red and black are likely the 'hot' wires and yellow the common. You're not going to blow up the fan by placing either the black or red to the + and the yellow to the - posts. Once you figure out which of the two is hot, go to radio shack and buy a snap connector and solder it to the fan's wires. That way, you don't have to run around with tape stuck to your batteries
